Was recently over a fellow racers shop and seen he had about 15 different spindles there, asked him why and he said he was always trying different ones. No other explanation! Go figure. So what is the deal? I know there are different height and degree spindles . But what are you changing besides rollcenter, cambergain?

Overall height effects roll center, Pin height effects ride height, Pin degree effects weights during steering wheel input. So you can change roll center, camber gain, ride height, dynamic weight and I'm sure there's more.

Thanks, its the pin degree that has me confused. What does it work like caster, to load or unload the tire when its steered to reduce crossweight?

That one is a bit beyond me. Best advice I can say is put your car on scales and turn the wheel. It will probably surprise you.

Your are talking about kingpin incl.most stock spindles/aftermarket are 10 degrees unless u have them custom made.taking k/i away from the r/f affects camber gain/caster gain during dive and roll.trying this on the scales is very limited as your chassis is mostly in steady state.i talked to tech from coleman racing,he was helpful.there is also a formula for this.i can try to find in my records.
We also ran big spring late model at thompson speedway in ct.

Thanks for the input Joe. I knew it had sizable effect, just wasn't 100% sure where. I've noticed several manufacturers are making a couple different degrees standard these days.
